Welcome to Knottie (the “App”). These Terms & Conditions (the “Terms”) form a legally binding agreement between you and Carlos Fernandez, a sole trader (autónomo) registered in Spain, with registered address at GV Corts Catalanes 460, Pral 1B, 08015 Barcelona, Spain (“we”, “us” or “our”). By downloading, installing or using the App, you confirm that you have read, understood and agree to be bound by these Terms.

If you do not agree, you must not use the App.

1. About Knottie

Knottie is a reference application that provides real-time 3D visualisations of how to tie a variety of knots. Five knots are available free of charge; additional knots can be accessed via in-app purchases as described below.

2. Eligibility and Age Restrictions

The App is intended for all ages. If you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you must have your parent or legal guardian’s permission to use the App and to accept these Terms on your behalf.

3. In-App Purchases and Subscriptions

The App offers optional paid features through Apple’s in-app purchase (“IAP”) system:

Auto-Renewal: Payment will be charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time via your App Store settings.
Price Changes: If we change the subscription price and you are an existing subscriber, Apple will notify you and, if required, seek your consent before the new price takes effect.

4. Refunds and Right of Withdrawal (EU)

You may have the right to withdraw from your purchase within 14 days under EU consumer legislation. Refund requests are handled directly by Apple; please visit reportaproblem.apple.com or the App Store’s Report a Problem page.

5. Intellectual Property

All intellectual‑property rights in the App and its content (including 3D models, graphics, text and software) are owned by us or our licensors. We grant you a limited, non‑exclusive, non‑transferable, revocable licence to use the App for your personal, non‑commercial purposes in accordance with these Terms.

6. User Content

The App does not allow users to upload, post or transmit any content. Accordingly, sections relating to user‑generated content removal or moderation do not apply.

7. Safety Disclaimer

The knot‑tying instructions provided in the App are for general informational purposes only. Incorrect tying or inappropriate use of knots can result in injury, death or property damage. Always practise knots in a safe environment and, where safety‑critical, obtain professional guidance or verification before relying on any knot. Your use of the App is entirely at your own risk.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential or special damages, including but not limited to personal injury, loss of data, loss of profits or property damage, arising out of or in connection with your use of (or inability to use) the App, whether in contract, tort or otherwise.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability; in such cases our liability shall be limited to the minimum extent required by law.

9. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Spain. You and we submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Barcelona, Spain, to resolve any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms.

10. Dispute Resolution – Informal Negotiation

Before initiating court proceedings, you agree to contact us first and attempt to resolve the dispute informally. If a resolution is not reached within 30 days, either party may pursue its claim in the courts specified above.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. If we do, we will notify you via the App, the App Store listing or by other reasonable means. Continued use of the App after the effective date of the updated Terms constitutes your acceptance.

12. Privacy

Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy. The App collects limited personal data, such as anonymised crash/usage analytics provided by Apple, and purchase receipts for IAP validation. No account registration is required.
